FTI Consulting has expanded its corporate legal operations practice with an enhanced assessment offering.

The expanded practice will now deliver assessments across a wide array of critical pain points, alongside comprehensive consulting services and technology that support end-to-end legal operations transformation.

Many companies are feeling pressure to reduce costs and streamline processes in their legal department (alongside other functions), but 44% of legal departments say they need to update their core technologies to achieve this, according to a Blickstein Group study.

“For many legal departments, they know they have operational difficulties but don’t know where to start,” said Meredith Brown, global co-leader of FTI Technology’s corporate legal operations practice. “These challenges often lead to false starts, stalled projects and frustration. To address this, we’ve expanded our assessments offering, so that clients can understand exactly what’s needed to drive improvement.”

The expanded list of legal operations assessment offerings addresses areas including strategy alignment, resource optimization and outsourcing, technology selection, business processes, spend and vendor management, and operational analytics and reporting.

“Our experts have deep subject-matter expertise in each of the key legal operations disciplines and extensive experience in conducting assessments that drive pragmatic, strategic roadmaps,” added Wafik Guirgis, global co-leader of FTI Technology’s corporate legal operations practice.

FTI Consulting helps clients manage change, mitigate risk, and resolve disputes. The Washington, DC-based firm has more than 7,000 people in 30 countries.
