The adesso Group is continuing its SAP expansion in a move that sees its SAP consultancy adesso orange AG acquire the two Vienna-based SAP specialists gravity consulting gmbh and VITEC Vienna Information Technology Consulting GmbH for the Austrian market. The two new members of the adesso Group enhance the range of services offered by adesso orange Austria specifically for clients in the country’s manufacturing and insurance sectors.

adesso orange AG is one of the leading experts in SAP systems in Germany and specialises in large-scale SAP projects in a variety of industries. The acquisition of gravity consulting and VITEC means that adesso orange’s Vienna location is boosted by a total of 30 new staff who specialise in the key adesso sectors of manufacturing (gravity’s focus) and insurance (VITEC’s focus).

Olaf Reiter, Executive Board member of SAP Gold Partner adesso orange in Germany, is placing the experienced IT managers Alfred Hofmann and Johann Grafl in charge of the Austrian subsidiary, together with the existing managing director Heinz Taferner. Reiter believes that the expansion of the Group’s operations in Austria is an important strategic decision in view of current market demand: “The SAP market is growing rapidly in Austria too. The S/4HANA transformation in particular is going to take up a huge amount of time at companies in the next few years. A lot of SAP clients are currently in the evaluation phase and need professional project support for their planned implementation.”

New additions to adesso orange Austria’s management

The current managing director of adesso orange Austria GmbH, Heinz Taferner, has focused mainly on the energy sector (utilities) in Austria up to now. He is delighted to be joined by the new managing directors and to see the company expand its portfolio: “Gaining experienced managers, SAP developers and consultants from gravity consulting and VITEC allows us to lay the foundations for expanding our company, adesso orange Austria, and meeting the ever-growing demand for SAP services in Austria across a wide range of industries. At the same time, we are increasing our visibility on the market.”

SAP Core expertise for the manufacturing industry and insurance

gravity consulting has built up a wealth of expertise as an SAP Core implementation partner to major SMEs and groups in the manufacturing industry, and will contribute this experience to adesso orange Austria. VITEC employs SAP experts in finance and accounting, analytics, reporting and insurance regulation and, going forward, will add corresponding expertise in the financial services sector to adesso orange Austria.

Plans are in place for adesso orange Austria to continue its growth by leveraging the synergies available within the adesso Group, which has more than 8,300 staff throughout Europe. In particular, the company aims to develop close cooperation and ties with adesso’s national subsidiary in Austria, which – just like the German group parent – operates across a wide range of industries as a full-service IT provider. In future, adesso Austria will benefit from the SAP expertise of colleagues at adesso orange Austria in Vienna (for sectors such as public administration, automotive and manufacturing, healthcare/life sciences, energy and transport, trade, media/entertainment, trade fairs and sport).

Alfred Hofmann, managing director of gravity consulting, sees the merger with a leading IT player like adesso as a tremendous opportunity for his team: “Being part of a growth-oriented, international group gives us access to a huge network of clients and partners, and opens up new and attractive ways for us to evolve.” Johann Grafl, managing director of VITEC, is equally enthusiastic: “Joining this powerful group increases our potential for expanding into Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as an Austrian digitalisation partner.”
