PwC has appointed Eric Janson as its global leader of private equity, real assets, and sovereign funds.

Based in Dallas, Janson will continue to serve as a member of the PwC US private equity sector leadership team. He takes on the global leadership role from Will Jackson-Moore, who has been named PwC’s global ESG leader.

As global private equity leader, Janson will oversee a team of 23,000 deal professionals in 23 territories serving funds and portfolio companies.

The appointment arrives as PwC increases investment and resources in digital transformation, data and analytics, ESG, and alliances to better support private equity and sovereign investment fund clients.

“As the price of deals has soared, firms are more challenged to create value in their investment portfolios,” said Kevin Burrowes, global clients and industries leader, PwC UK. “Eric brings decades of experience and exceptional insight in maximizing PE value for some of PwC’s biggest clients. ESG is increasingly at the core of the value equation and Eric is intensely focused with our team across the network on helping PE clients formulate their ESG strategies and then helping them implement effectively, building trust, and creating sustainable outcomes.”

Janson has spent the last 31 years at PwC US, including more than 20 years as a leader in the deals business. He has advised many large global private equity clients on major transactions and worked on deals spanning multiple geographies.

Janson has an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.

“I’m thrilled to be leading our global PE practice at this exciting time. We have ambitious growth plans and continue to build out our capabilities globally,” Janson said.

The PwC network of independent accounting and consulting firms has more than 327,000 people across 152 countries.
