The Middle East is set to host two major financial services-focused conferences next month, with the Digital Banking & Payments Summit and NextGen Banking & Technology Summit taking place in Dubai and Oman.

Organised by Cedar Management Consulting and IBS Intelligence, the summits will provide executives and leaders from across the banking and wider financial services ecosystem with the latest insights in digital transformation and payments.

The events will see an impressive line-up of speakers share trends and developments on topics including next generation banking, B2B payments, customer experience, cloud, tech-innovation and more, with further perspectives drawn from industry experts across banks and technology players during panel discussions and workshops.

The summits take place against a rapidly changing – and digitising – backdrop for banks. “Digitisation in banks has become more of a necessity rather than a preference,” explained Chetan Parekh, a Partner in the Dubai office of Cedar Management Consulting and a leader in the firm’s Financial Technology practice.

“The reasons for embracing digitisation are multi-fold – to improve banking efficiency, attract and retain new customers, improve analytics, launch innovative services, and enhance product customisation.”

But as banks drive their digital banking agenda, they encounter all kinds of pitfalls, with digital transformation in banking notorious for its challenges. This is where the two summits come in: “We will help leaders explore the latest developments in digital banking, so they can return to their business with valuable learnings and insights.”

With deep experience in the Middle East since 1999, having assisted financial institutions in the lion's share of countries in the region, Cedar Management Consulting and IBS Intelligence are well-known brands within the financial services landscape. Cedar Management Consulting is one of the sector’s leading consultancies, while IBS Intelligence is a frontrunner in the banking technology and fintech segment.

The two firms previously teamed up to organise conferences across Europe and Asia, including the recent NextGen Core Banking Summit 2022 in London. Nearly half of its event’s attendees are CEO or CxO level, with the other half operating at (senior) management level.

The Digital Banking & Payments Summit in Dubai takes place on November 3, 2022, in Shangri-La Dubai. The Grand Hyatt in Muscat will host the NextGen Banking & Technology Summit on November 24, 2022.
