AlixPartners, a global management consulting firm, has hired Himanshu Khandelwal as a managing director in its digital practice.

Based in the Detroit area, Khandelwal brings more than 20 years of technology consulting and auto industry experience, with a focus on digital and operational transformation, business development, and relationship management for Fortune 500s.

Khandelwal has led transformation programs for data monetization, early warning systems, warranty operations, smart factories, and field services, and has developed commercialization strategies for industry 4.0 and AI/mobility solutions for automotive OEM and industrial clients.

Khandelwal joins AlixPartners from EY’s Detroit office, where he spent the last two-and-a-half years as a managing director. Before that he spent two years at DXC Technology, where he was a go-to-market and industry leader.

He also previously spent 11 years at IBM Consulting, where he was a global account partner. Earlier in his career, Khandelwal was a product business manager at TRW, a tier-1 supplier of safety systems for automotive OEMs.

He has an MBA from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Indore, India.
