Big Four consulting firm PwC has promoted 63 new partners, with its deals practice receiving the lion’s share of the new partners in a booming M&A market.
The firm boosted the number of equity partners it promoted by nearly 10%, up from 58 last year.
PwC has added 18 partners in its deals team, representing nearly a third of the total cohort, in what the firm said was a reflection of a strong transactional market.
Forty-one percent of the new partners are women and 13% are from an ethnic minority background, the firm said in a 24 June statement.
When the promotions take effect on 1 July, 23% of the firm’s partners will be female and 11% from an ethnic minority background.
PwC has a target of 30% female partners and 15% ethnic minority background partners by 2025.
Last week the firm said it planned to invest $1.2bn in the UK over the next three-to-four years, with plans to create 4,000 new jobs, boosting its headcount from 22,000 to 26,000.
PwC UK’s chair and senior partner Kevin Ellis said: “The role of leaders has never been more important and, as we look ahead, these new appointments will further strengthen our partnership.
“They represent the diverse skills we need to continue to grow sustainably while supporting our clients and people as they respond to unique challenges and opportunities.”
