Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announces that it has expanded its Debt Advisory team in Europe with the appointment of Floris Hovingh as a Managing Director in London, Axel Rink as a Senior Director in Frankfurt, and Atif Malik as a Director in London. All three bring over 20 years+ each of debt advisory and banking experience to the growing A&M debt advisory practice.

Mr. Hovingh has over 20 years of experience advising clients across a wide range of industries in Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East on finding the right debt solutions. His clients include private equity-owned, listed, and family- and founder-owned businesses. He has raised more than £20 billion of debt capital during his career to support a variety of situations, including leveraged buyouts, refinancings, recapitalisations, working capital solutions, and debt restructurings. At A&M, he will provide clients with independent advice on accessing and managing their interactions with the international debt markets.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hovingh was Partner and Head of the Alternative Capital Solutions (ACS) team at Deloitte Debt Advisory in the U.K.for 12 years, having founded the ACS team. Prior to this, Mr. Hovingh worked for HBoS and NIBC leveraged financing teams for 8 years. During his time at Deloitte, he advised on a number of high-profile leveraged finance transactions including the refinancing and acquisition funding for Apex Fund Services, Stiga garden products refinancing, and the acquisition of Theorem by Chiltern.

Mr. Rink has over 20 years experience working with clients across a range of financing mandates, predominantly in the DACH region. Before joining A&M, Mr. Rink was co-head of Deloitte Debt Advisory in Germany. Mr. Rink has advised across a range of private equity-backed and privately held companies. Before his time at Deloitte, Mr. Rink spent 5 years with the European investment teams of Strategic Value Partners and Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds. He started his career in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort and HVB Group.

Mr. Malik has over 20 years of banking experience across the EMEA region, most recently in debt financing at Barclays where he had been the head of loan syndications for the Corporate Bank. His experience spans across the range of debt markets (including both corporate banking and capital markets) and a range of sectors. He has led the execution of over 100 facilities, including the development of the ESG loan market, for a number of listed and private corporate clients.
