Global accounting and consulting giant KPMG has installed a new Chief Human Resources Officer for the UAE and Oman: Gretchen Moxcey. She oversees the human capital agenda of the firm's 1,500-strong team.
Appointed in her new role at the start of April, Gretchen Moxcey succeeds the Dane Peter Haugaard, who held the role for nearly four and a half years and has decided to relocate back to his family in Denmark.
American-origin Moxcey brings over three decades of human resources experience to the role, including over twenty years at rival Big Four firm Deloitte. Most recently, she was a senior HR business advisor, delivering the firm’s talent strategy and programs for 25,000+ partners and employees across 100 business verticals between the US and India.
Moxcey also served as an advisor to the India HR leadership team – with over 50,000 employees, Deloitte India is one of the group’s largest member firms. Earlier in her career at the firm, she was part of team that built the award-winning Global Mobility and Immigration center of excellence, and delivered large scale HR programs in digitisation, process improvement, offshoring and business process outsourcing.
Before life in professional services, Moxcey was with Fidelity Investments, responsible for leading its HR strategy and operations across retail and institutional brokerage businesses in the US and UK. She started her career with Bank of America where she led the design, development and delivery of over 20 consumer bank training programs across areas of product, security, compliance, operations and customer service.

Relocating from the US to the Middle East to take on this challenge, Gretchen said: “This role is a wonderful opportunity to leverage my experience in the US and India to help KPMG build a progressive and innovative People function.”
Gretchen is based out of KPMG’s Dubai office, one of the firm’s three offices in the United Arab Emirates.
