IBM, announced the appointment of Steve LaFleche as General Manager for the U.S. Public and Federal Market. In this role, LaFleche will be responsible for furthering the digital transformation of IBM clients in key industries including the U.S. federal, state, and local governments as he leads IBM’s multi-billion-dollar public sector business. IBM's U.S. Public and Federal Market comprises Government and Education, Defense and Intelligence, and Healthcare and Life Sciences industries.

"The modernization and move to hybrid cloud and the adoption of AI will be the challenges -- and the opportunities -- for government IT leaders in this decade," said Steve LaFleche, IBM General Manager, U.S. Public, and Federal Market. Most recently, LaFleche was IBM’s Managing Director for the State of New York, leading the team that helped one of the most affected states by the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. LaFleche, who has worked with IBM for more than 33 years, has held multiple positions in past years, including Vice President of the U.S. Public Sector for North America. LaFleche’s deep experience with government agencies along with strong business acumen positions him as a uniquely qualified executive to lead IBM’s Public and Federal Market during this time.
