Global real estate consultancy Knight Frank has launched its retail property consultancy team in Saudi Arabia, bringing Pedro Ribeiro on board as a partner to lead the new offering.

The firm’s retail consultancy practice – which operates globally – advises landlords and corporates on the full lifecycle of retail projects, from conception and leasing strategy, through to leasing the retail development, management and refurbishment.

The team will also advise brands who are setting up retail operations in Saudi Arabia for the first time, advising on key aspects such as location selection and contract negotiation.

Commenting on the launch, James Lewis, Managing Director of Knight Frank Middle East & Africa said: “The retail sector in the Kingdom is undergoing considerable structural change which requires insightful navigation. Our new premium retail advisory client offering helps clients navigate these changes.”

Leading the charge in Saudi Arabia is Pedro Ribeiro, who brings over 25 years of experience working in retail, real estate and asset management across the Middle East, Europe and North Africa to the firm. He specialises in retail project planning, implementation and development, mall management retail marketing and leasing strategies.

During his career, he has gained multiple industry recognitions for his advisory work, including two in Saudi Arabia whilst working on the Riyadh Park Mall project, which won New Development of the year in 2018 and the Panorama Mall project which was awarded Renovation/Expansion of the year also in 2018.

“I am delighted to join Knight Frank and head up their retail consultancy team,” said Ribeiro.
