Civitta has bolstered its presence in Poland with Warsaw-based SAS Advisors, lifting its footprint 28 offices across Europe.
Founded in Estonia, Civitta is a management consulting firm that currently operates with offices in 17 European countries across Central and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. The bolt-on of SAS Advisors adds a second location in Poland to its ranks (the consultancy already had a hub in Krakow), and deepens its capabilities funding and research & development innovation.
“This deal is in line with Civitta’s expansion strategy, aiming to become the leading consultancy player in the region – not only in traditional management consulting services, but also in innovation and EU funds attraction fields,” said Adam Saulius Vaina, a board member at Civitta.
In operation since 2008, SAS Advisors specialises in helping companies with attracting public funds from EU and national state aid sources, with a focus on R&D projects. Over the past years, the firm and its circa 30 employees have helped clients land over €300 million in preferential financing, including over €200 million for research & development.
Vaina: “SAS Advisors has an impressive track record in Poland. By joining our forces, we will be able to deliver more value to our base of clients.”
Adopting the Civitta brand
As part of the integration, SAS Advisors will operate under the Civitta brand, an approach the pan-European consultancy has applied to previous acquisitions – including the fellow 2021 deals of Envision Consulting (Kosovo) and EV Consulting (Armenia).
Leveraging the breadth and network of Civitta, SAS Advisors will aim to ‘export’ its funding expertise into other markets the group is active in, and expand its domestic capabilities with new offerings.
Unpacking on these two benefits, Lukasz Pupek, founder and managing partner at SAS Advisors said: “Civitta offers the largest team of EU Funds consultants in Central and Eastern Europe, with strong focus and extensive expertise on grants managed directly by European Commission.”
“Moreover, we will have access to know-how related to complementary services of corporate innovations and start-up consulting (including ecosystem development). All this means that we will be able to deliver to our clients value not available on the Polish market so far, and offer our team the attractive opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from different countries and be involved in international projects.”
Jakub Bursa, founder and managing partner at SAS Advisors added: “We strongly believe that joining Civitta is the necessary next step in our company’s development. After becoming the leading advisor on the Polish market specialising in EU funds we have managed to find the best partner to extend our activity in all possible aspects.”
