KPMG has announced the appointment of Shepard (“Colie”) Spink, the former managing partner for A&M Capital Europe, as the new senior advisor to its UK Deal Advisory practice.

Spink joins KPMG as a senior advisor to the network’s UK Deal Advisory practice. In his new role, he will provide insights and advice on pre and post-deal strategy and transformation, private equity, and building out operational capabilities.

He previously co-founded and served as the managing partner for A&M Capital Europe. He led A&M’s European private equity-focused transaction and performance improvement services businesses for the past decade. In addition, he has also led numerous private equity backed businesses where he served as CEO, CFO, or NXD.

Liz Claydon, head of deal advisory at KPMG in the UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Colie to our market-leading Deal Advisory practice. His track record of advising on operational change and delivering value for businesses across many sectors globally adds further senior firepower to our ability to maximise opportunities and deliver sustainable value for our clients at every stage of the deal lifecycle.

“It has been an exceptional year for our business; we expect the growing appetite we’re seeing for integrated advice across corporate finance, debt advisory, value creation and transaction services, will only continue as the economy rebounds from the impact of the pandemic. I know Colie’s vast experience, both as an advisor and C-suite executive, will complement our strategic growth plans as we drive our business forward in the months and years ahead.”

Colie Spink, senior advisor to Deal Advisory, added: “Technology, climate change, social activism and now the pandemic are upending business models and driving an unprecedented need for corporate transformation.

“KPMG is in an extremely privileged position to be able to leverage its brand, footprint, industry insights and functional capabilities to help its clients anticipate the risks and capitalise on the opportunities that come with change. I’m looking forward to working with KPMG’s incredibly talented and experienced team to provide end-to-end transformation and value creation solutions for clients throughout the deal lifecycle to help unlock and preserve value.”
