Accenture has worked with Sydney-based tech unicorn Canva to optimise its IT transformation journey, streamlining core operations and introducing a new cloud-based system – Workday Human Capital Management (HCM).

With this new platform, Canva can now gain access to enhanced insights to inform decision making, deploy talent and programs faster, monitor progress of the workforce, and organisational objectives securely over a single system.

Accenture was brought in to provide a solid foundation for Canva to grow, optimise current HR processes, while removing waste and improving the start-up’s ability to respond to market conditions.

According to Canva head of people Crystal Boysen: “We chose Accenture and the Workday platform as it offered scalability across disparate forms and processes. And despite the challenges bought on by COVID-19, we have successfully been able to implement the platform.”

In less than six months, Accenture migrated, configured and successfully deployed Canva’s employee data to the new Workday platform. The phase-based approach provided opportunities for Canva to collaborate and ideate through an iterative style ensuring the modernised platform meets their evolving business needs.

“Difficult operating conditions are challenging business resilience and redefining the nature of work, calling for continuous collaboration, agile processes, and aligning teams with strategic business initiatives” said Jonathan Restarick, Accenture’s leader for the software and platforms sector in Australia and New Zealand.

“We are delighted to have worked with Canva to rapidly implement new ways of working with people and data that will set them up for continued growth,” added Restarick.
