Deloitte Canada is acquiring Global IO, one of the leading companies in integrated operations (IO) in the fields of mining, energy and utilities.

Global IO leadership will join Deloitte consulting practices in Canada, Chile, and Australia, specifically as part of operations transformation offering. This will enhance Deloitte’s capabilities and reputation within the space to offer clients a complete delivery of operational transformation services.

“This is an important step towards creating a one-stop shop for Deloitte clients on a global scale,” says Andrew Swart, Deloitte Global Mining and Metals leader. “Deloitte firms have previously collaborated with Global IO on several large engagements. The acquisition of Global IO adds crucial depth and breadth to Deloitte capabilities, and improves the ability of Deloitte firms to support clients in their journey of operational transformation.”

The acquisition furthers Deloitte’s qualifications in delivering end-to-end integrated operations projects, and expands available services to Global IO’s clients in the areas of change management, project management, analytics, and digital strategy.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Global IO,” says Anthony Viel, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte Canada. “This addition is a key differentiator for Deloitte, and a major win for our clients, who will truly benefit from a one-stop-shop approach. Global IO’s strong reputation and credibility, and deep relationships within the mining and energy sectors, will allow us both to expand our efforts, and provide dependable services to our clients from start to finish in a more agile and deliberate way.”

With a team of qualified professionals in design, implementation, operations management process, and integrated operations deployments in mining, energy and utilities, Global IO personnel will operate from Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary, Santiago, and Perth. Global IO partners joining Deloitte include: Dominic Collins, partner, Deloitte Chile; Pieter Lottering, principal, Deloitte Australia; and Eamonn Treacy, director, Deloitte Canada.

“What a brilliant next chapter for our team,” says Dominic Collins, previously a partner at Global IO, now partner, Deloitte Chile. “This is a great opportunity for us to not only better serve our clients under the banner of Deloitte, but to expand our services with new resources, to broaden our scale and scope, and deliver the dependable services our customers, and Deloitte’s, have come to expect.”
