Global management consultancy Bain & Company has over the course of last year appointed seven new partners in India, across promotion rounds in June and December. Four of the new leaders are based in Mumbai, while the remaining three are based in New Delhi.
The promotions make up seven of the 94 professionals that Bain & Company promoted to partner level in its operations worldwide. Most of these promotions were in offices in the Americas and the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, with one-fifth of the new leaders based in the Asia Pacific.
“We congratulate these next-generation leaders and celebrate their accomplishments, including both extraordinary client results and standout examples of coaching, mentoring and building great teams within our firm,” said Bain in a statement. In India, the promotions have been made across Bain’s New Delhi and Mumbai offices.
The three new partners in the New Delhi office are Arunava Dalal, Praneet Gupta and Gaurav Nayyar. Dalal has been at Bain for nearly a decade, and is an expert in the fields of Healthcare and Advanced Manufacturing & Services. The latter is an area of expertise that is rapidly growing in demand on the back of India’s resurging manufacturing drive.
Gupta is also an expert in the Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice, as well as in the growing domain of Real Estate. He has been at Bain since April 2016, when he joined from Zomato. Nayyar is a former Manager at Big Four accounting and advisory firm KPMG and has been at the strategy and management consulting firm for more than five years.
His expertise lies in a wide variety of areas, which include Advanced Manufacturing & Services as well as mergers & acquisitions and divestitures, performance improvement, and strategy. Nayyar has a wealth of professional expertise, which extends beyond India into the Africa and Middle East markets as well.
In Mumbai, Bain’s new partners are Radhika Sridharan, Mihir Sampat, Aditya Shukla, and Dhruv Sukhrani. Sridharan is an IIM graduate who has been at Bain for more than a decade now. She is a member of the firm’s global Customer Strategy & Marketing practice.
Sampat has also been at Bain for a decade, having joined from CEB where he was the Director of Business Development. Market research and management consulting are Sampat’s core areas of expertise. Aditya Shukla is an expert in Bain’s Private Equity and Technology practices, having been at the firm since 2007.
He took a brief hiatus to complete an MBA from the Harvard Business School between 2011 and 2013, before returning to Bain as a Consultant. His work with private equity clients spans commercial/vendor due diligence, fund strategy and operational improvement.
Sukhrani, meanwhile, has been at Bain since 2010, having moved to Bain Capital as an Investment Professional between 2015 and 2018 before returning to Bain & Company as a Principal in 2018. He now takes over as a Partner, where he will leverage his expertise in operations, finance and strategy.
The new leadership across Bain’s India practice comes at a time when the firm is enjoying considerable success. Early last year, Bain’s Global Managing partner Manny Maceda indicated that Bain’s India practice is among the most successful of its global network, demonstrating double-digit growth figures.
Across its New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru offices, Bain has 34 partners. The Indian team is led by Karan Singh, one of the founding partners who helped establish Bain's India business in 2006.
