Aviva Plc has appointed Infosys NSE 0.95 % president Mohit Joshi as an independent non-executive director of the company with effect from December 1.

Joshi, who heads the Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences business verticals of Infosys and is the chairperson for its subsidiary EdgeVerve, is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting. Mohit joined Infosys in 2000 after an initial career in banking and has more than 24 years of experience working across the US, India, Mexico, and Europe.

Aviva has also appointed Jim McConville, former Group Finance Director of Phoenix Group, as an independent non-executive director. McConville was responsible for all aspects of the Group’s financial strategy and management and during which he led the transition programme bringing Phoenix and Standard Life Assurance together.

Joshi and McConville bring significant experience in retail financial services and operational and IT transformation to the Board, said Aviva in a press release.

While Joshi will become a member of the Risk and Nomination and Governance Committees; McConville will assume the role of Chair of the Customer, Conduct and Reputation Committee and will become a member of the Audit, Risk and Nomination and Governance Committees.
