Chris Webber, a former five-time NBA All Star, has joined Atlanta-based management consulting firm Yardstick Management as a partner. Webber will serve as head of strategic partnerships and as an image consultant.
Yardstick was founded in 2012 and provides consulting services in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion; executive coaching; executive search; and school management, among other areas. The Black-owned company’s team of 15 consultants have completed engagements with numerous leading corporations, including Amazon, Facebook, Netflix, and LinkedIn. Yardstick also works with government agencies, municipalities, and higher education institutions.
As head of strategic partnerships, Webber will work to expand the company’s client portfolio.
Webber previously had a successful 15-year career in the NBA, which included five All Star game appearances, and ended in 2008. Since his retirement from professional basketball, Webber has been a broadcast analyst on the TNT network.
Webber also produces films through his company with Emmy-winning documentarian Peter Gilbert, and has produced hip hop records, including two songs for acclaimed rapper Nas.
“My aim is to make Yardstick Management a multibillion dollar firm and a revolutionary brand that companies will actively seek out for hire,” said Webber. “We are excited that we have the opportunity to make global change for those who look like me to receive a seat at the table, and I am eager to do my part in making that happen.”
Webber is also an active philanthropist, having established The Timeout Foundation in 1993 to provide positive educational and recreational opportunities to youth. He has also been recognized for his work with the Make a Wish Foundation.
