Markus Doerr takes over the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at DHL’s van building outlet StreetScooter. As a new member of the management board, the former consultant will be responsible for production, purchasing and quality.
Doerr was most recently Managing Director of the Automotive Engineering division of the engineering and technology consultancy Ricardo. There he was responsible for the European, Indian, Japanese and Korean markets. Previously, he had built up and managed the global strategy consulting business at Ricardo. Other positions in his resume include A.T. Kearny, Roland Berger and Ford.
“He is a proven automotive expert with deep insights into international production processes and product development, purchasing and supply chain management as well as quality management and internationalisation strategies,” said StreetScooter CEO Jörg Sommer.
In addition to Markus Doerr as COO and CEO Sommer, Arndt Stegmann (CFO) and Fabian Schmitt (CTO) are the managing directors of StreetScooter. Michael Neuenfeldt, who came from DAF, has been responsible for sales and marketing since 1 April 2019.
At the beginning of March it was announced that Achim Kampker, longstanding managing director and face of Street Scooter, would be replaced at the top by Sommer. In April, Kampker then left the company and has since concentrated on his post at RWTH Aachen University.
