Professional services firm Deloitte has announced that the founders and staff of Melbourne-headquartered information and data management consulting business, NeoData Australia, are to join the firm’s Consulting Enterprise Technology practice.

The NeoData team will join Deloitte on 12 August in a move which Deloitte says continues the strengthening of its “market leading” technology team.

Under the agreement, NeoData’s chief executive Dr Tas Osianlis and chief operating officer Robert Loughnane will join Deloitte as partners and chief technology officer Gergo Bacskai as a principal, along with approximately 20 staff who will join Deloitte offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Deloitte says NeoData is an information services consultancy that specialises in reporting, analytics, and business modelling solutions, with a strong position in the ANZ region based on deep technical and functional skills in the Oracle technology and applications portfolio.

“It is one of the leading providers of Oracle-enabled analytics services in Australia and the only company to have been awarded Oracle APAC Specialised Partner of the Year for four years running (2016 to 2019)," Deloitte said.

“Neodata’s team bring deep functional process knowledge to all aspects of finance, HR and procurement, customer experience, and supply chain systems, working across a range of industries, including financial services, higher education, technology, media and telecommunications, and all levels of government."

Deloitte chief executive Richard Deutsch said: “We continue to see significant client demand for business-focused consulting enabled by deep technology expertise.

“This transaction — our first for the new financial year — builds on other technology additions we have made in recent years, as well as enhancing the value we can bring to Deloitte’s formal alliance with Oracle that includes an Asia Pacific team of more than 3,500 Oracle cloud experts.”

“As back office and digital transformation offerings mature, organisations are looking for smarter ways to use and interrogate their data,” said Deloitte managing partner consulting, Kaylene O’Brien.

“Our clients, particularly in financial services, asset management and supply chain, are looking to us to help them succeed with their critical technology projects.

“NeoData is known in the market for its deep Oracle cloud capabilities, and the team’s analytics expertise in particular will complement and strengthen Deloitte’s Oracle team, enabling us to offer the full suite of services required in complex end-to-end implementations.”

Peter Nikandrow, Deloitte’s Oracle lead and Enterprise Technology partner, said: “NeoData is Oracle’s strongest and most experienced Business Intelligence and Analytics implementation partner in the ANZ region. We’ve worked with Tas and his team for over a year on multiple projects; so we’ve been courting for a while and it’s great to be able to take our relationship to the next level and have the team join as part of the Deloitte family.
