A global company with a 100-year history has chosen the Dayton area for a new digital hub that will house its growing workforce.

Booz Allen Hamilton, a management and IT consulting firm based in Virginia, is expanding its Beavercreek office to include secure facilities that will be part of the company's Digital Solutions Network. The hub will be comprised of digital strategists and technologists who research, design and collaborate to solve challenges for business, government and military clients, according to the company.

Booz Allen expects to bring 60 new jobs to the Dayton region by 2021. The positions will generate new annual payroll of $5.1 million, and include a variety of positions such as software developers, data scientists, cyber security engineers, scrum masters, analysts and systems administrators. Salaries for the new employees will vary by position and experience.

The addition of these new software, cyber and engineering jobs will enable Booz Allen to "continue tackling the complex challenges of today and the future," the company stated. Technologies that will be utilise at the digital hub include artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, advanced analytics, machine learning and more.

The announcement of the new digital hub comes a day after Booz Allen received approval for a 1.9 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit. The incentive, authorised by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, was based on the number of new jobs the company will create, as well as the amount of retained positions. The firm expects to retain $30.9 million in existing payroll through the expansion project, in addition to the new payroll.

Booz Allen Hamilton provides consulting, analytics, digital solutions, engineering and cyber services to customers in a variety of industries, from defence and health to energy and international development. The company employs more than 24,000 people worldwide, and its revenue stood at $6.17 billion as of last March.
