The Japanese arm of professional services company EY has signed as a Tokyo 2020 Official Supporter, the third domestic sponsorship tier of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

As a partner in the ‘Professional Services’ category, EY Japan’s deal will cover the following areas: audit, finance, tax and project management, planification and management consulting.

The company has already provided the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee with various professional audit, taxation advisory and project management services.

The addition of EY Japan brings the total number of Tokyo 2020 domestic partners to 65, including 15 Gold Partners, 32 Official Partners and 18 Official Supporters.

The Tokyo 2020 deal builds on the close links that EY has developed with a number of a global sports events in recent years to showcase its expertise.

EY was a tier two domestic sponsor of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games where it was the Official Provider of Consulting Services to the Games.

In 2017, EY brought its expertise in digital and analytics to work with The British & Irish Lions on its 2017 Tour to New Zealand, building on its partnerships with the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Previous to that, EY was an Official Partner of the 2014 Ryder Cup and the Official Professional Adviser to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

In the US, EY is the Official Principal Partner of USA Rugby, supporting the national federation on digital and technological transformations.

It is also a sponsor of a high-end hospitality space – the EY Coaches Club ­­– at the MetLife Stadium, home to the NFL’s New York Football Giants and New York Jets.
