Consulting industry expert Michele Luzi has been appointed a Non-Executive Director by global consultancy Cello Health. The Bain & Company Partner brings more than 25 years of experience in telecommunications, media and technology consulting.
UK-headquartered Cello Health Consulting is a rapidly growing global strategic consulting firm dedicated to healthcare. Founded in 1994, the consultancy holds offices in the UK’s South East and London regions, as well as on the East Coast of the US. The firm works with clients to create practical solutions focused on 6 practice areas. These are Forecasting and Valuation; Asset and Indication Prioritisation; Commercialisation Strategy; Launch Excellence; Franchise and Brand Strategy; and Scenario and Competitor Planning.
As the firm has experienced growing demand, the consulting wing of Cello Health – which hosts a global team of over 400 people – has been looking to grow its team on an international basis. Most recently this saw seven new professionals join the firm on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as a further two promotions in the UK, and an acquisition to boost its capabilities further.
Now, as Cello Health looks to move further forward, it has appointed Bain & Company stalwart Michele Luzi as a Non-Executive Director. He brings decades worth of experience leading major company transformations to the role, particularly across the telecommunications, media and technology industries. Luzi's areas of expertise include strategy development, performance improvement initiatives, organisation design, M&A and merger integration.
Luzi arrived at Bain in 1990, and almost 30 years later holds the position of Advisory Partner in the MBB strategy giant’s London office. During that time, he has accrued extensive levels of experience in consulting, and served as a senior member of the firm's telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) practice. He has also previously served as a member of Bain's global Board of Directors as well as the leader of Bain's EMEA TMT practice, while prior to joining Bain, Michele held management positions in industry, including commercial positions in Pirelli, Agusta and the Italian Trade Commission.
As a member of the World Economic Forum, Luzi has also led a number of projects related to internet and digital economy. He remains a Director of Midatech, a Pharmaceutical nanotechnology company, and sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Bath's School of Management. On top of this, Luzi has been a member of the Science Council of the Web Foundation and is an investor in a number of start-ups.
Commenting on Luzi’s arrival, Chief Executive Mark Scott said, "He brings with him first-hand experience of growing a global professional service business, as well as a wide knowledge of the healthcare sector… His contribution will be very helpful as we seek to expand Cello's global footprint."
