Widen, a provider of digital asset management (DAM) software, today launched Strategic Consulting services for marketing technology. Strategic Consulting complements Widen’s Professional DAM services, offering strategy design, change management, and process improvement. By focusing on strategy, Widen aims to outfit customers for challenging, long-term objectives.

Widen’s Strategic Consulting team is led by Michael Shattuck, who spent a decade implementing and operating martech systems for New Balance. Since joining Widen, he has provided professional DAM services to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises. He has found that many clients don’t have a strategy in place and, consequently they operate below their potential.

“Software vendors sold the myth that a martech tool can fix any problem,” said Michael Shattuck, Senior Strategic Operations Consultant at Widen. “The reality is that software alone can’t surmount complex challenges and achieve meaningful goals. People, processes, and technology are equally important and inevitably clash without a coordinating strategy. We launched Strategic Consulting because we want our clients to thrive, and we know they need more than software to do that.”

Widen currently offers three Strategic Consulting services:

Marketing Technology Strategy Design. A custom plan that aligns people, processes, and technology towards a winning aspiration.

Change Management. Training and support for teams grappling with strategic change.

Process Improvement. A rigorous program to increase efficiency and user satisfaction in martech processes.

Leah Hammes, Global Digital Content Manager at McCormick & Company, a Fortune 1000 manufacturer of spices and seasonings, piloted Strategic Consulting with Widen. Said Leah, “Working with Widen Consulting has allowed us to determine a DAM strategy that aligns with and adds value to the overall McCormick Global Strategy and bottom line. It has legitimized and positioned the DAM as a best practicing and leading application in our martech stack.”

“We're thrilled to add a new dimension to our offering with the advent of Strategic Consulting,” said Jake Athey, VP of Marketing. “Customers can tap our experience, data, and methodology to create winning strategies for their brands.”

Widen’s Strategic Consulting services are for prospective martech buyers as well as organizations that have mature stacks. Consulting engagements are customized to each client and range from full-day seminars to multi-month projects.
