ALM’s Consulting magazine honors the profound difference women continue to make for their clients and their firms at the Women Leaders in Consulting Gala Awards Dinner on November 8 at the New York Palace Hotel. Debbie Simpson, a Senior Partner and Chief Financial Officer for the Boston Consulting Group, is being recognized with Consulting magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Simpson is a member of the BCG’s Executive Committee, Operating Committee, and other core management teams. As CFO, she is responsible for the firm’s global finance function and financial matters, and she leads the BCG’s global functions. Simpson joined BCG in 2001 and became CFO in 2007.
In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, Consulting magazine will honor 12 other award recipients, including six Excellence in Leadership winners: Eileen Coveney of L.E.K. Consulting; Gina Gutzeit of FTI Consulting; Protiviti’s Ashley Hartley; Kara Murphy of Bain & Company; EY’s Sonia Sande; and KPMG’s Sandy Torchia.
The Excellence in Client Services award winners are: Jodi Bednar of West Monroe Partners; Mercer’s Cindy Gentry; Jessica Jarvis of ZS; and Pam McDonald of Impact Advisors. And the Future Leaders Award winners are: AT Kearney’s Neeti Bhardwaj; and Cognizant’s Amanda Halabi.
“Now in its twelfth year, the Women Leaders in Consulting award continues to grow in popularity and stature,” said Joseph Kornik, Publisher & Editor in Chief of Consulting magazine. “The quality of the nominations and the accomplishments of the winners continue to shock us every year—the Women Leaders in Consulting gala is one of the highlights of our year.”
As the publication of the consulting profession, Consulting magazine is honored to shine a light on the accomplishments of these women leaders and the firms they represent. “Even though women make up about a quarter of the consulting profession, their overall impact is significantly greater,” Kornik says. “It’s simply astounding how women—and particularly these 13 women—are shaking up the consulting profession.”
