We looked at grades / levels from Analyst to Senior Partner in a variety of regions that we operate and gathered the data based on the previous 12 months. We identified a number of firms to represent the four segments we looked at.
MBB firms: McKinsey, Bain and BCG
Strategy firms: Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, Strategy&, Kearney, LEK Consulting, Monitor Deloitte and Alvarez & Marsal
Big 4 firms: Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC
Business Consulting firms: PA Consulting, Baringa, FTI, Capgemini Invents and Accenture

We used our usual smoothing formula that we apply to Talent Intelligence insights of this sort.
Average Attrition is calculated by dividing the number of leavers in the previous 12 months by the average number of employees during the same period in each firm and then averaging them by the named segment.
Average Tenure is the average length of tenure of all the employees considered in the report on the day the report was produced.
