The cost of living has become the leading concern among Gen Zs and millennials in the UK, according to Deloitte’s latest Gen Z and Millennial Survey. 31% of Gen Zs and 38% of millennials cited this as their greatest concern, overtaking climate change from the top spot in last year’s findings.
Demand for credit from UK households is expected to rise this year as cost of living pressures bite, according to the latest EY ITEM Club UK Bank Lending Forecast, which predicts consumer borrowing will grow to a five-year high of 7.9% in 2022 (equivalent to almost £16bn in net terms).
