Financial services firm PwC has launched a new team in Birmingham which is aiming to support international companies doing business and investing in the Midlands.
The 'Midlands inbound team' will focus on helping overseas-owned companies navigate the complexities of doing business in the region, whether they have existing operations here or are seeking to enter the UK.
PwC said the new multi-disciplinary team had been set up in response to the changes in the international environment which are expected to impact on companies operating in the UK as well as the business world in general post-Brexit.
The team brings together around 185 of PwC's experts and will be led by tax partner Lucy Redding with support from the firm's other Midlands offices in Castle Donington and Milton Keynes.
She said: "The region has historically attracted high levels of inward investment from overseas businesses, with 975 foreign direct investment projects in the Midlands over the past four years.
"It's important that we continue to promote and support the Midlands as a place for overseas companies to do business against a global environment of unprecedented change.
"We advise businesses on a broad range of areas relevant to international companies doing business in the UK.
"Currently our clients are requesting most assistance in the areas of complex tax, employment, regulatory, cyber and financial reporting issues."
