FRP Advisory Group has continued its expansion across the UK, with the acquisition of WilliamsAli Corporate Finance. The deal strengthens the company’s deal-making capacity in the North East of England, and is the 11th acquisition since FRP’s 2020 IPO.

Geoff Rowley, CEO of FRP, commented, "This acquisition complements our existing strong presence in the North East in a target region for the expansion of FRP Corporate Finance. We are pleased to welcome Abu, Phil and the team to the business. They share our values and ambitions, and will no doubt make a strong contribution as we continue to grow."

FRP Advisory Group is a UK specialist business advisory firm with a team of over 740 people, including 100 partners, spread across 29 offices. It was first established in 2010 and offers a range of advisory services to companies, lenders, investors and other stakeholders, as well as individuals.

This latest deal marks FRP's eleventh acquisition since its IPO in March 2020, underlining the firm's commitment to strategic growth through carefully selected targets. Fuelled by the acquisition drive that has since involved 11 firms, FRP’s corporate finance team continues to grow, and advised on deals worth more than £1.5 billion nationally in calendar 2023 – raising over £0.5 billion in debt funding for clients.

Founded in 2019, WilliamsAli has quickly established itself as a boutique corporate finance advisory firm, specialising in M&A, management buyouts, acquisitions, private equity transactions, and fundraising. The firm has built a strong reputation for providing tailored, high-quality services to entrepreneurs, shareholders, investors, and businesses of various sizes across the North East.

WilliamsAli’s previous work has included advising on the acquisition of Houghton International by US-based Integrated Power Services backed by Searchlight Capital. The integration of WilliamsAli into FRP's operations is expected to create new opportunities for clients in the North East, offering them access to a broader range of services and expertise – with WilliamsAli’s seven-strong team incorporating into the FRP fold, including co-founders Abu Ali and Phil Williams, who join as partners.

Ali noted, "Phil and I are delighted to be joining FRP Corporate Finance. We are incredibly proud of the track record of WilliamsAli in the North East market to-date, and we are excited about how we can further build on this within the FRP Group. With the additional infrastructure, resources, and service lines now available to us, together with closely aligned values, we are confident this will be a hugely positive move for our team and clients in the North East region".

Earlier in 2024, FRP also strengthened its corporate finance prowess, with a deal for Lexington Corporate Finance. The move saw FRP move into Wales for the first time, while founder, Gary Partridge, joined FRP as a partner, along with all 14 other members of the Lexington team.
